Dr. Mechanic

She earned her Baccularate in Nursing Science from Hunter College, Bellevue School of Nursing. Her Graduate Degree and Post Graduate Degree in Community Mental Health Nursing Education was obtained at Columbia University. Dr. Mechanic earned a second Master’s Degree in Marriage, Family, Child Counseling from Trinity College of Graduate Studies. She served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corp as a Major. She also was  on the faculty at San Diego State University.

Her extensive work experience includes the Family Stress Center in Chula Vista, CA, Institute for Crime and Trauma in San Marcos, CA, and Shalom Family Clinical Services. She is Board Certified by the American Association Credentialing Center and the California Board of Registered Nurses in Adult Psychiatry and Mental Health. She is also Licensed as a Marriage, Family Therapist by the California Board Behavioral Sciences.

She is a member of: California Association of Marriage, Family Therapist, Association for Play Therapists, California Nurses for Ethical Standards and California Clinical Nurse Specialists. She has authored several articles in professional journals.
